TAMID Consulting

  • Composed of small teams ranging from 4-7 people, the Consulting track allows for members to have direct involvement with client work and communication. The teams generally include a project manager, assistant project manager, and analysts who work together to achieve a client’s goal. The project leadership creates a timeline and organizational structure to ensure that the project goes to plan, and that the team of analysts participate in bringing that goal into fruition.

  • Israel has the highest number of start-ups per capita in the world, making it a vibrant base for our consulting partnerships. The project manager uses the TAMID database at the beginning of the semester to partner with a start-up that matches their interests and leadership skill set. Then, the team completes a collaborative goal established with the Israeli partner. The small nature of a start-up allows for TAMID’s work to be impactful and directly influenced by client feedback.

  • The Consulting Track acts as an intermediary between the Israeli clients and the larger TAMID club at Cornell. In order to spread the impact of the experiential learning that the Consulting track provides, each small team is responsible for two presentations throughout the course of the semester. The first presentation occurs in the middle of the semester. There, the teams share the client description, the project goals, and early deliverables. The mid-semester presentation acts as a foundational point of feedback for the Director of Consulting and the larger club to influence and critique the direction of the project. Using this feedback and client feedback, the team then creates a final presentation at the culmination of the semester to share its progress and contributions over the course of the semester.

  • While TAMID offers a large range of professional interests in its members, an overwhelming majority of the Consulting track enters the consulting and management industry. Whether that be tech consulting, human capital consulting, strategy consulting, healthcare consulting, etc. varies, but the nature of the work often stems from skills learned in TAMID. This allows for a strong alumni network that provides key assistance and insights during the Consulting track’s professional development work. The projects innately provide crucial experience in the realm of consulting, varying by semester in their specific scope. That experiential learning, coupled with the alumni network, provides a strong foundation for professional development skills attained in the consulting track.
